7 Week Old Maeve

Little miss Maeve is 7 weeks old and growing like cruhaaaaazy!!! While I am still reminiscent of the very recent past, I am enjoying our life with Maeve more and more every day! Here are some things that the little Button is up to…

- As of last week, she was 10 pounds, 2 ounces…averaging 8 ounces a week. She is getting so incredibly long, that she is already fitting into 3 month clothes!! I refused to put any of them on her at first, because quite simply, I didn’t want to admit that our little girl is growing so much so quickly. But to be honest, I don’t think it’s the growing that is hard for me. I think it’s the fact that it means that her birth day is fading farther and farther into the past. After some self actualization, I realized that just because it is becoming more and more of a distant instead of recent past, it doesn’t mean that I have to forget it…any of it. So, I started journal-ing to help me remember as my mind will inevitably leave out some details. With that…she is now wearing 3 month clothes :)

- She smiles!!!! And ohhhhh, does she smile. Sure she smiled at the very beginning too, but that typically had nothing to do with me or daddy. Now however, she smiles at me and daddy for days.  At first she mostly smiled at daddy, but now I get them too. And each time she flashes that gummy grin, my heart grows a little bit larger.

- She SLEEPS! Thank goodness she sleeps! A little over a week ago, my proverbial candle was just about burnt. So much in fact, that as I was feeding her, her midnight meal, I looked to David  (I’m pretty sure I had a single tear rolling down my cheek) and said, I seriously need help tonight with her. With that…she slept for 5.5 hours!!!!!!!!! Granted, I woke up frequently because I was just sure something was wrong, but nothing was. My sweet little Maeve button just knew that her mama needed some serious sleep. Just thinking it was a fluke, we didn’t want to get too excited. Needless to say, she has slept 5.5-6.5 hours every night since!! Thank you Maeve! This is how it works for us…

And look..she has eyelashes…

- She loves to sit up with her daddy. He puts her in the crook of his arm, and they just sit there and hang out. It’s seriously cute…seriously!

- She is really start to coo and move a lot too. It’s funny to put the blankets on her and watch her just kick them off…over and over and over again.

Here are some shots of our perfect 7 week old baby…

Diana and Eric’s wedding is coming up sooooo soon…and we can’t wait! But since we do have to wait, we started off with an engagement shoot. I am so glad you guys gave us a chance to get to know you a bit and work with you ahead of the big day! Eric wasn’t too sure about us, but I think he started to warm up a little…kinda…not really ;)

Regardless…their love is abundant and it oozed from them. So really, our job was easy…we just soaked up the love they were pouring out at each other! I have too many favorites from the shoot and am now even more excited for their wedding!! Take a little peak at the band-aid that started it all…

Love this…

Ashtin’s personality was incredibly sweet! From the do you like my baby (referring to his baby sister) to the excuse me, he couldn’t have been any cuter…but he was. We started the shoot with him dressed up in the same cowboy chaps that his grandpa wore when he was his age. Then we moved to his baby, Emma…who also couldn’t be any cuter. Poor girl had a cold, but she was still so awesome and smiley.

And mom and dad were nothing short of awesome too! You guys were all so easy to work with. Thank you!!! Take a peak…

LOVE this…

I absolutely adore these next two…

So cute…

I’ll end with a scorching hot pic of mom and dad…

Button at the Beach

Daddy had a shift over at Newport, so Maeve and I decided to join him! There, we encountered quite a few firsts with little Button. Some of which included…

- Staying in a hotel room. Some of you may be thinking “Big Deal” (implied eye roll). But it was in fact! Because we have all been there before…whether it be a restaruant, a plane ride, or a hotel room, we have all wanted to kick the parents who couldn’t console their screaming child. So much in fact, that when we become parents, we are determined that we won’t be THOSE parents. So…yes…staying in a hotel room was a big deal…especially with a one month old!

- Maeve officially soaked through her entire outfit with urine! Again…who let’t their child get that wet??? I know, I know! But to my defense…we use cloth diapers!!! Which, if she is just a peeing away, it can soak through quite quickly. And normally yes, I would be on top of it. However, we went to visit daddy on one of his breaks, and we ended up having to wait a while and do a few other things in between. So Maeve stayed in her car seat while we waited, and waited, and waited. And well…it just so happens that my daughter is well hydrated with great functioning kidneys! So yes…I let my child get that wet!

- I held Maeve while using the bathroom. This may be a little TMI, but it reinforced that fact that I will always put Button’s needs before my own. Having a child gives multitasking a whole other meaning. All you mamas out there…I know you feel me on this! Normally, I can hand her off to David if she is crying and mother nature calls. But…refer to the section above about staying in a hotel room! I did not want to be THAT parent…especially since it was 3 am!

- Maeve went to the beach! Granted she slept through most of it, but we know she enjoyed it!

It was our first overnight away from home, and all in all…a success!
