Hot Cocoa…mmmmm!

As with most things since I began to inhabit this little girl, my likes and dislikes aren’t quite what they used to be. Don’t get me wrong…hot cocoa is good and all, but not something that I would ever seek out. Especially if I wasn’t sitting around a campfire. But…like I said…things aren’t quite what they used to be. Soooooo, I am on the unrelenting search for the best hot cocoa in Eugene, Oregon. And let me just tell you…this is no easy task. But, for all you hot cocoa lovers out there…this is what I have found…

The best in town (if you’re a powder, not syrup kinda girl like me) is…drumroll please…Cornucopia!!! That’s right! They even top it with whip cream! Yumma!

Second would have to be Wandering Goat Coffee Company! Not quite as good as the previous, but they make it so esthetically appealing that it adds a few bonus points.

If you like it rich, Sweet Life Patisserie makes theirs with chocolate ganache. Plus, you can get a delicious little treat while you’re there!

Conclusion…this mama and her little girl inside like hot cocoa!! Suggestions on places to try are welcome ;)

Compliments of Wandering Goat…

P.s. Maeve started hiccuping for the first time this week!!! And of course…it’s the cutest thing ever!

I will start off by saying that I am only just a wee bit biased about the little human that we photographed yesterday. I have watched her grow from the size of a little blueberry inside her mama to the beautiful, perfect (I warned you…biased) 14 day old Samia.

Since Sam and Jess found out they were expecting when she was the size of a blueberry…that just kinda stuck with her. Blu…they called her while she developed and Blu they will continue to call her.

So…here she is…all perfect…and well…PERFECT…

Quite possibly the sweetest thing…

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE…

And of course…blueberries (thank you, thank you David for this amazing idea! There is a reason you are my perfect partner)…

I love you all!!! Thank you so much for letting us have our way with little Samia. You guys were and are amazing!

I have NOTHING to wear! Seems to be my thought every morning as I look into my closet…not that I am being dramatic by any means…I truly have nothing to wear THAT FITS! Okay…now I am being dramatic ;) So yea, I’ve got a few things that will cover this ever expanding bell of mine, but it takes a while to decide what I will put on. And poor David sits…and waits…and waits…and waits…

My dilemma is that I am trying to be cost and earth friendly. I really don’t need to go out and spend a bunch of money or waste a bunch of material on clothes that I am going to wear for just a few more short (can you hear the optimism in my voice ;) ) months. After several articles of clothing draped across our bed and one exasperated mama later, we are out the door…until tomorrow morning…

Until next time…

Anybody that knows me, knows that I am late…late to everything…late all the time. When I first found out that I was pregnant, I suddenly was on time (not early by any means, but on time) to everything. I don’t know why, but it certainly didn’t last. And now that little Maeve Button moves all time…it has gotten…worse. I know, I know. How could it get any worse? But it has. Because now, not only do I have to get myself ready, I have to stop and stare at Button…all the time!

As all you mamas out there know, it is this crazy, weird, incredible, most amazing feeling to have your little human inside moving around. And although it is awesome enough to feel it, it is even more awesome to see it…to see your little human rolling and bumping around. So, in the midst of trying to cover up all those zits that miraculously appeared when she started growing inside me…she bumps…and I stop (because really, who am I kidding, these zits can’t be covered up)…and I stare at my ever changing belly…and she rolls and bumps some more…and I love her…deeper and deeper.

So this week, it’s just me and Button…

And the daddy that makes us laugh…

Until next time…

Little Kyle is just as tough and easy going as his mama…he was totally willing to be morphed and folded into any little position we put him, and Jen was there to help the whole time! Papa Paul wasn’t able to join us for this shoot, so he had no idea what we did to his little man ;) Take a peek…

I love, love all of these next shots! They are so sweet and simple…

My fave…

Loved the green blanket Jen…

Thanks for being so laid back! See you in 3 months!

David and I wonder if the pups can tell that something is changing inside mommy. Maybe…maybe not…but we kinda think so :)

Anytime I lay on my side on the couch, Gertie takes the liberty of sitting her little fanny right on my bell with her paws on the couch. I’m not quite sure why she has started doing this, but she seems to like it. And Porter…well, is just my sweet Porter. He snuggles with me often, and baby Maeve kicks him more and more. Sometimes he lifts his head and tilts it to the side with a look of curiosity as dogs often do, and sometimes he does nothing. We also have started asking them, Where’s your baby? as we tap my belly, and they usually come and sniff and lick it. I like it think its because they know their little person is growing inside there and they just love her so much already ;) But…I am also a realist and understand that they may just like the way the cocoa in the oil tastes that is all over my belly.

Let’s just pretend they know she’s in there…

Where’s your baby???

Until next time…

Jamie and Katie are best of friends. So naturally, they were blessed to have little babes just shy of 2 months of each other. We got together to photograph little Luci and Alivia…who are of course…the best of friends as well ;)

Luci wasn’t exactly thrilled we drug her out into the cold, so I will start with a shot of sweet Alivia…

Happy girls…

I can’t get over how precious Luci looks here…Liv too of course…

Um…hi bestie…

I like your outfit…

You guys were great…ALL of you! Thank you!
