The first thing the ultrasound tech asked us as we entered the room was, “Do you want to find out the sex?” We both casually nodded our heads yes.

The thing was, we already knew the sex…and it is our sweet baby Maeve. We didn’t want to ruin the fun for her though, so she very excitedly states, “It’s a girl!!!” David and I look at each other and smile. YAY we simultaneously say…lacking the normal bit of enthusiasm that I am sure she is used to. The truth was…inside I think we were both relieved that our  (okay my) rather eager first look at a mere 15 weeks wasn’t wrong ;)

What we did find out, that we hadn’t already known was that she looks completely and perfectly healthy…phew!!!

And…David thinks she has my chin, and we both think she has his tiny, little fanny ;) We couldn’t get a good look at her face because she had snuggled down and went to sleep with her hand over her face. I think she wants to surprise us.

(As a side note…I understand my clothing choice isn’t great for showing the progression of my bell…but seriously…it was freaking cold! And even with this, I needed more clothes)…

With a complete and total understanding that almost all profile shots of in utero babes looks close to identical, I say, Isn’t she just the cutest

A side shot of little Maeve with her arm up and hand in front of her face…

Until next time…

Welcome Baby Wyatt

The Sullivans are always so easy and fun to shoot. I had little helper (and big brother), Quinn to help during the photo shoot for Wyatt. Wyatt wasn’t totally lovin’ what we were doing to him, but he toughed it out anyhow. I will start off with my favorite pic of him…

So sweet…

Mom and Dad’s not so happy little present…

Colin had to distract my helper Quinn, so we could finish up. They went on a little car ride while we got some shots of mom and Wyatt…

Thank you!

Llama llama red pajama reads story with his mama… is how we end every day. We picked a book that David could read to little button every night, so she could get used to his voice. On our search for THE book, we flipped through tons of possibilities. None of them quite fit the bill. We would get annoyed with hearing this one every night, that one isn’t really that great, and on and on… Until we came across this one! At first, he would just read. And now, it really seems as though she is getting used to her daddy. Because as soon as he starts..so does she. She bumps and bumps around inside while he is reading to her. And after, we lay there and feel and watch her move around until she has pooped herself out and is ready for bed.

As most of you know, David’s nick name is Monkey. My nickname is Tina. That’s right, Tina! Come get some ham…from Napolean Dynamite. A silly story of how that came about, but nonetheless, it is David’s term of endearment for me. And since we are having a girl, she is now a little llama…just like her mama. So…this book…is nothing short of perfect…

Little lLama, don’t you know, Mama Llama loves you so?

We met up with Emma a little later in life! Instead of following her first year of life, we have been following from 9 months to 2 years…and what a treat it has been. I always love to watch little people grow into themselves, and 18 month Emma is no exception. Take a look at the very active Emma…

After a little outfit change, Emma is ready to brave the cold again…

I absolutely adore these next few! I simply could not pick between them…

Thank you! Thank you! See you next time!

Our Baby Biography: Week 18

Did you feel that? How about that?

Those are the words that constantly came spewing out of my mouth to David over the past couple weeks. After many unsuccessful attempts to feel our little babe kick around inside me, he ever so politely said, I’ll wait a couple more weeks. Bummed that he didn’t want to keep trying, I realized that it wasn’t that at all. That really, from the dad’s standpoint…it must kinda suck to not be able to feel that little being as quickly or as often as we, the moms get to. So a couple days passed, and I was sitting exactly here, working on photos (where I must be too often), and she was going absolutely BONKERS. Babe, I really think you should come and try to feel her…really, she is moving tons! And without any question…he came…and bumpdid you feel that? With a shake of the head, he continued to try and feel. Then she let out a freakin’ karate chop…and he looked at me and smiled…I felt it!!

After that, we must have laid on the bed for a solid 30 minutes, David’s head on my belly, listening and feeling his little girl. It was a good day! A day that has since been followed with many more karate chops and rolling and bumping…

We love you Button.

Until next time…

We met up with the Anderson Family for a super QUICK and WET photo shoot! Everyone talks about their backyard as being so gorgeous and great to photograph…and often times it is, but it usually doesn’t have a lot of space to work with. Their backyard, however, was incredible!!!!! So we all hurried out in the rain to get a few shots for the Holidays, and somehow through the muddy dog, runny noses, and frizzy hair…it was perfect!

LOVE, LOVE…

And EXTRA LOVE…

Don’t worry Brad, I won’t mention the Cosby sweater…we got your back ;)

Welcome Zachary!

After meeting the newest little DeFreest only a few hours after he was born, we had the privilege of going back for a more extensive shoot. And this time, big brother Nicolai got in on the fun. Take a peak at their growing family…

Zachary came the day after Thanksgiving, so naturally…

I will end with their sweet little family just hanging out…

I am the perpetual pursuant for all things sour…I always have been. Nothing ever quite gets the job done. And now, even more so with this little monkey inside me. We ransacked the entire Sweet Factory looking for any kind of sour yummy goodness, but everything continued to fall just a bit short. So, I have since turned to lemons! Yes, plain ol’ deliciously sour lemons! And it does not fall short. It does however, perpetuate my need for tums…but it’s worth it. So the viscous cycle of tums and lemons persist…

P.s. I can feel our little girl move now all the time…it is nothing short of amazing :)

Until next time…

David and I have always distantly loved this one particular house. Today, however, we were able to not so distantly love this particular house. We met up with John, Laura, and Nat for a super quick photo shoot. Not only did the house have tons of character, but everything they had in and around it did as well. Which, from my standpoint, made for some awesome shots. Take a peak at their super hip little family…

Nat had it down, right from the beginning. He knew exactly how to turn it out for the camera…

Check out those smokey eyes…

I LOVE this…

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!

Little Ephie wasn’t interested in giving up the smiles for her 3 month shoot! This shoot, however, she was nothing but smiles…and tongue…and open mouth. It was actually pretty awesome how she just kept her mouth WIDE open…like she really was tasting the air.

Ellen and Rob are always so pleasant to work with. From putting their newborn in a window to putting their 6 month old on the train tracks. Here is a look at the incredible Euphemia…

ADORE this…

Seriously! Check out that open mouth…

The next three are among my absolute favorites…

Choo choooooo…

Okay, I love this one too…

Ephie is not amused by us…

I will end the same way we started…
